Friends of Harrow (FoH)

Building Community. Enhancing Experience

Established in 2025, Friends of Harrow (FoH) is a collaborative initiative that brings together parents and staff in support of Harrow Appi’s mission to deliver a world-class holistic education.

All parents, guardians, and staff automatically become part of FoH and are warmly invited to take an active role in school life. Whether through volunteering, sharing expertise, or supporting events, every contribution helps enrich the Harrow Appi experience for all students.

FoH serves as a platform for parents to connect, contribute, and collaborate. It offers meaningful opportunities to be involved—whether by leveraging professional knowledge for student initiatives or assisting in the planning of community events that bring families together.

Working closely with the school, Friends of Harrow supports a range of activities within two key areas:

Education Enhancement

FoH partners with the School to extend learning beyond the classroom, connecting students with real-world insights and experiences.

Key Initiatives include:

  • Internships Parents and their professional networks play a key role in supporting internship and work shadowing opportunities for pupils. Through the strength of the parent community, students gain meaningful exposure to real-world environments—from leading industries and entrepreneurial ventures to creative fields and international organisations.
  • Education Talks Parents contribute their professional experience and personal passions by offering talks that enrich the school’s co-curricular programme. These sessions provide pupils with valuable insights into diverse careers, global perspectives, and inspiring life journeys—broadening their understanding beyond the classroom.

Social Events

Harrow Appi’s remote setting means families often connect off-campus, with Friends of Harrow (FoH) playing a key role in building community through regional events held across Japan and beyond.

Key Initiatives include:

  • New Parents’ Induction These provide a supportive space for parents to ask questions, gain practical insights, and connect with experienced families—helping them feel confident and prepared as their child begins their Harrow journey.
  • Coffee Chats Held throughout the year in various regions, these informal gatherings provide a relaxed and welcoming space for parents to connect, share experiences, and stay engaged with school lif
