Remembrance Day Assembly

During our Remembrance Day Assembly at Harrow Appi Japan, we reflected on the bravery and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the First World War. Students shared the stories of three Harrovians who lost their lives in battle, honouring not just the fallen, but those who, more than 100 years ago, sacrificed their education and their futures to fight a war that shaped the world.

Students also read war poetry by those who had made it home, their words captured the loss, courage, and humanity of that generation. The assembly concluded with a moving performance of “The Last Post”, performed by one of our students alongside our Head of Music — a poignant tradition played each year around the world to mark remembrance.

As the final note faded, our community observed a moment of silence to remember the fallen and reflect on how fortunate we are today.

“At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.”
