Boarding

BE A BOARDER, BE MORE HARROw

Boarding is a distinctive characteristic of British education and is central to the school’s culture and ethos.

Being a Boarder is the most authentic way to experience a Harrow education; Harrow School in the UK has been offering a boarding-only education for centuries, as is the case in Appi.

Harrow International School Appi replicates the full boarding experience of Harrow School in the UK – all students will be boarders.

Boarders benefit from being part of a community and from learning to live alongside others. Boarders have full access to the school’s facilities, to their teachers, and to the delightful Appi environment.

All boarders can choose from a range of additional sporting, academic, creative, and wellbeing activities. These sessions provide boarders with further opportunities to access the school’s facilities, develop new and existing skills, support their mental health, and interact with peers from other Houses – all the while being continually supported by Harrow faculty members.

The basis of a truly British experience, Boarding is what creates the synergy between our core and super curriculum, the co-curricular programmes, and Appi’s outstanding natural environment. It is what makes Harrow Appi one of a kind.

Being a Boarder is the best way to become a true Harrovian.

Accelerated Learning in a Focused Environment

Specifically for Boarding students, we run additional supervised study sessions and provide focused academic support. Our younger students are offered English and Mathematics support, our older students can request tuition in any of their IGCSE or A Level subjects. In all cases, full qualified Harrow teaching staff provide the additional lessons – all included within the Boarding fee.

Lifelong Friendships and Connections

What most students remember from the Boarding experience is the friendships they made.

In a Boarding House, students live with their friends, have meals with them and share the joys and tribulations of everyday school life. We see these strong and deep friendships growing over the years. Not only do students keep in touch with one another, we are proud to say many keep in touch with the school, long after they have left.

360° Personalised Support

Each Boarding House has a House Master or Mistress and designated House Parents. These staff foster a close-knit, family atmosphere in which Boarders feel at home, and in which they feel happy, secure and valued.

Staff are also on hand to help with each Boarder’s day to day organisation; getting students up in the morning, ensuring they have all the equipment they need for the days study, assisting with any issues and providing a listening ear.

Our Boarding Houses are staffed throughout the night, with students able to call on staff as needed.
