BE A BOARDER, BE MORE HARROw
Harrow Appi will replicate the full boarding experience of Harrow School in the UK – all our students will be boarders. Appi boarders will have full and safe access to the school’s facilities, to that natural Appi environment and to their teachers.
Being a boarder brings the benefits of being part of a community, learning to live alongside others, and grow in independence.
Harrow Appi boarders can choose from a range of additional academic, sporting, creative and wellbeing activities before or after the main school day; all safely supervised. These sessions provide boarders with further opportunities to develop new skills and interests, interact with students from other Houses – all the while being supported by Harrow staff.
Piano practice, extra physics lessons, night skiing; all easy because all our students are boarding.
Specifically for Boarding pupils, we run additional supervised study sessions and provide focused academic support. Our younger pupils are offered English and Mathematics support, our older pupil can request tuition in any of their IGCSE or A Level subjects. In all cases, full qualified Harrow teaching staff provide the additional lessons – all included within the Boarding fee.
What most pupils remember from the Boarding experience is the friendships they made.
In a Boarding House, pupils live with their friends, have meals with them and share the joys and tribulations of everyday school life. We see these strong and deep friendships growing over the years. Not only do pupils keep in touch with one another, we are proud to say many keep in touch with the school, long after they have left.
Each Boarding House has a House Master or Mistress and designated House Parents. These staff foster a close-knit, family atmosphere in which Boarders feel at home, and in which they feel happy, secure and valued.
Staff are also on hand to help with each Boarder’s day to day organisation; getting pupils up in the morning, ensuring they have all the equipment they need for the days study, assisting with any issues and providing a listening ear.
Our Boarding Houses are staffed throughout the night, with pupils able to call on staff as needed.
